May 15, 2014Hillhead is a biennial trade show held on site at Lafarge Tarmac’s Hillhead quarry, located off the A515 south of Buxton in the Peak District. The show focuses on heavy duty construction and quarrying equipment, and around 450 suppliers of plant and equipment will be exhibiting their products and services.
This year, the show runs from the 24th to the 26th June, and takes place in a working quarry with large-scale demonstrations of working equipment. Most of the exhibits are outdoors, so it’s wise to wear appropriate clothing and suitable footwear.
Hillhead 2014
Hillhead’s unique location permits the exhibition of equipment in a realistic working environment. In 2014, several manufacturers will be revealing their latest products for the first time and a number of interesting technical developments are expected to be demonstrated. Hillhead claims to be the world’s biggest and best showcase of construction and quarrying equipment.
The exhibition covers an area of 140,000 square meters and visitors are urged to use the interactive planner to ensure that they visit all exhibits of importance to their business.
Exhibition Area: The main exhibition area comprises two pavilions: the registration pavilion and the main pavilion, and a large outdoor exhibition area where most of the major equipment will be shown.
Quarry Face Demonstration Area: Situated on the north side of the site, visitors can see large wheel loaders, excavators, face shovels, rigid and articulated dump trucks, and hydraulic breakers from eight companies processing over 10,000 tons of quarry stone that will be provided by blasting at the quarry prior to the exhibition

Roadmaster Concrete Mixers
Roadmaster Concrete Mixers will be exhibiting our range of volumetric concrete mixers at stall B14, and everyone interested in the latest concepts in concrete mixing should make a point of visiting the stand to see the latest products.
Volumetric Concrete Mixers: Roadmaster manufactures volumetric concrete mixing trucks that mix concrete on site. This innovative approach is cost-effective as the customer only pays for the concrete actually required and this method results in less wastage. This technique of onsite mixing means that volumetric mixing trucks are cheaper than traditional drum mixer trucks and has the further advantage of a higher output rate.
Concrete Pumping: There are many situations where it is not possible for a large concrete truck to dispense concrete where it is needed. Roadmaster have a range of mobile concrete pumps that can transfer liquid concrete from the mixer to the required location, from boom mounted pumps to trailer mounted pump.
